How to prepare Papaya and Ginger Jam

Today’s recipe is Papaya and Ginger Jam. We are going to prepare this mouth watering Jam for our break fast. So lets prepare this energetic and delicious Jam.


  • 1 Medium Papaya, approximately 750g (1½lb), not too ripe
  • 90g (3oz) preserved Ginger
  • ½ Cup Lemon Juice
  • 2 Cups Sugar.

How to Prepare:

  1. Peel Papaya, remove seeds, chop roughly.
  2. Put Papaya and chopped ginger into pan.
  3. Add lemon Juice.
  4. Bring to boil.
  5. Boil until fruit is tender, approximately 5 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat.
  7. Add sugar
  8. Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
  9. Bring to boil.
  10. Boil rapidly uncovered for 25 minutes or until jam jells when tested on cold saucer.
  11. Stir jam occasionally during cooking time.
  12. Pour jam into hot sterilized jars.
[Makes approximately 625ml (2½ cups)]
